I like these combined with other native plants like Purple Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, and Shasta Daisy.  They also look great with Stella d'Oro Daylilies , Painted Daisy, and 'Husker Red' Penstemon.

Blue Flax

 Linum perenne

Members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition were awed by vast fields of this favorite non-stop bloomer. Clusters of delicate blue blossoms burst with color in the morning and fade during the day, losing their petals by night. With the next morning the cycle begins anew and continues all summer until frost.

This dependable plant looks great in front of

taller plants or when planted in mass plantings and has the additional charm of attracting butterflies.
