Northern Sea Oats

Chasmanthium latifolium

This Texas native grass grows 2 to 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide with attractive green oat-like seed heads on green bamboo looking foliage that changes to bronze in the fall. Its water needs are medium to low and it self seeds freely. It is great planted around water features or in woodland settings. Good for flower arrangements or cut and dried. It also provides winter interest and cover for birds and wildlife.
