Yellow Foxglove

 Digitalis grandiflora

Digitalis comes from the Latin word digitus which means finger.  Each flower is shaped somewhat like the finger of a glove.  Rarely troubled by pests or deer, foxgloves provide beautiful long-lasting cutflowers.  They are great in cottage and woodland gardens, in the back of borders, and against buildings, walls, or fences. Foxglove attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

Leopard's Bane

 Doronicum orientale 'Little Leo'

Leopard’s Bane has yellow daisy-like flowers that bloom at the same time as tulips and Virginia Bluebells.  The flowers grow on long stems above heart shaped leaves and make good cut flowers.

They work well in the middle of the garden border.
