Quercus palustris
This pyramidal tree is fast-growing and does well in almost any soil if it has sufficient moisture and sunlight. Its glossy green leaves turn dark scarlet in the fall and its acorns are a favorite of wildlife. It is a much favored shade and street tree.

Laurelleaf Willow
Salix daphnoides
One of the earliest trees to leaf-out in the Spring,
the leaves of the Laurelleaf Willow are dark green and shiny on top and pale green underneath. They put on a show of changing color in any breeze. This fast growing beauty is covered with bright yellow catkins in April and May, thus earning it its nickname the Gold Pussy Willow.
