Ginkgo

 Ginkgo biloba

 

This native of China dates back to the Mesozoic

Era. It was almost extinct before being cultivated by Chinese Monks. It is an upright tree with interesting fan-shaped glossy green leaves that

turn golden yellow in the fall. They are very adaptable and tolerate all climates and soils. They do well in urban environments.

 This fast-growing street and shade tree has small fragrant spring flowers and its tiny leaflets turn a magnificent golden yellow in the fall. No raking is needed when the leaflets fall. With a beautiful broad crown, it is tolerant of salt, pollution, and drought and adapts to a broad range of soils.
